Final Video

This is our final video.

Third/final editing lesson

We decided that we wanted to edit our film some more, because we had the time, and wanted more marks. This involved adding more effects, and made it look clearer.
we then had to start all of the editing we did today, again, because during the editing we had deleted our ending of the film, and couldn't retrieve it. We did eventually finish it though.

Editing: second lesson

We added the sound for our film, but we almost couldn't finish due to time restrictions, and the lack of a third lesson. We also had to add lots of "action music" because of the amount of running scenes.

Editing - First Session

In this session we completed creating the credits, adding the logos of the distributor and the film and also the text introduction to our film opening. We added cross fades between segments of text and images to make the introduction smoother. In the next session we shall add dialog and non diagetic sound.

Logo

This is our logo, we shall place it at the beginning of our film after the distributors logos. We used Adobe Photoshop to create it. Several layers of Gaussian blur text and a final layer of not blurred text makes a glow effect which connotes the sci-fi genre. The green pentagons also hint at the fact the Blarg is an alien and are an intertextual refference of the sci-fi cartoon Ben 10 in which Ben Tennyson can transform into ten different aliens. The worn text connotes how much action Blarg encounters in his adventure.

Filming - Final session

We managed to finish our filming this lesson. In our editing session we will add sound effects and possibly dialog, a sound track, the logos of our distribution company and of our film and credits.

PG rating

a PG (Parental Guidance) film is:
- Suitable for ages 8 or over however this is at the Parent/ carer's discretion
- May contain discrimination however this should only be educational and should always be negatively portrayed
- May contain drugs but must carry a strong anti drug message
- May contain horror but this must not be intense and can only be fore a short amount of time
- May contain some mild bad language
- May contain some grown up themes such as domestic violence

Examples of PG rated films:
Pokémon: The First Movie (1999), The Haunted Mansion (2003), Back to the Future (1985)
Our children's film fits more into the PG category because the chase scene in the introduction contains an extended period of threat which is not counterbalanced. It also has a somewhat skewed moral framework in which our main character is a thief which is not suitable for a U rating.
